Meeting at BT and my daughters operation
I have been a little slow in posting this week because my daughter, Lily who is profoundly disabled underwent an operation called a fundoplacation yesterday which is designed to alleviate the problems she gets after eating food with serious reflux (food coming back into the throat and mouth along with stomach acid which is very painful). Lily has suffered this for a long time but it has recently become worse so she has undergone a procedure where the top of the stomach is effectively tightened to stop food coming back up.
She has had a successful procedure up to now but is in a lot of post surgery pain. Its excruciating to see such a small person in pain and there is nothing you can do about it. Hopefully this will be of huge benefit to her in the future but you cant help feeling guilty for putting her through it. It is dificult to concentrate on work while she is in hospital but I have to combine the two currently because as a director of such a large and active company it is difficult to switch off. Our customers demand that services run smoothly and I need to play my part in that too whilst caring for our daughter.
